In exchange for lessons in English and baseball, Rabbi Hirsch teaches him Yiddish and tells him of Jewish life in old Prague and of the mysteries of the Kabbalah.

CLASSIC MOVIE NIGHT:
THURSDAY, February 11 at 6:00 p.m.

Some Like It Hot (1959)
Originally released in March of 1959, this award-winning comedy stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. Set in 1929 Chicago, Curtis and Lemmon portray chronically broke musicians who have the unfortunate luck of witnessing the St Valentine’s Day massacre. They elude the Mob by disguising themselves as women and joining an all-female band headed for Florida for a two-week gig. The mayhem and gender issues unfold as both men vie for the attention of fellow band member Marilyn Monroe.
As always, the evening will begin with a newsreel and cartoon from the year the movie was released. So please join us in our upstairs conference room “cinema,” complete with a 4’ by 6’ screen. This event is free,
as is the delicious movie theater popcorn and beverage!

At the scene, she discovers one bear severely malnourished and the other dead, his stomach slit open. Local authorities quickly deduce that the bears were used as a diversion by drug smugglers, but Venus is skeptical and follows up on lead after lead until all she has to go on is a distinctive diamond ring off a dead informant’s hand. The ring leads her to a diamond mine in Northern Canada, where she discovers that a priceless blue diamond had been found and kept secret.
