Classic Movie Night Thursday, September 9 at 6 p.m. Join us for a night of comedy as we present the 1948 film "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House," staring Cary Grant and Myrna Loy. A young family dreams of leaving their cramped city apartment for the spaciousness of the country and an older Connecticut farmhouse. What starts as a dream, however, becomes something else entirely. The evening begins with a newsreel, a preview of next month's movie (Invasion of the Body Snatchers), a cartoon and then the feature film. This all takes place on our large 4' bu 6' screen in the library's upstairs conference room. Free, along with popcorn and beverage!
St. Albans Free Library is pleased to offer a downloadable audio book service. You can select audio books from the Listen Up! Vermont Web site, and save the audio books to your home computer, then transfer them to an MP3 Player or, in some cases, burn them to a CD to listen to at your leisure. Visit www.listenupvermont.org and go to sign in, then chose “St. Albans Free Library” from the libraries listed and then your library card barcode. Checkout the Quick Start Guide for some helpful tips. This is service is provided by the Green Mountain Library Consortium and Overdrive. St. Albans Free Library is funded by the Book Cellar, the library’s ongoing used book sale. Last updated Sept. 1, 2010 Copyright © 2010 St. Albans Free Library & N J Rowell |
